Service Locator is an interactive web-based application using GIS technology that allows users to
easily find information regarding public works service providers in their area. The public can search
for Public Works related services relating to road, construction, utility, and transit. Before the
introduction of the Service Locator there was no one-stop centralized informational system which made
the task of tracking down agencies both confusing and time-consuming.
For its outstanding work in reducing wait times, office visits, and misdirected phone calls for
the public, in addition to saving hundreds of staff hours per year by providing instantaneous access
to data, we are pleased to present the Service Locator website with an E-Government Project of the
Year Award.
