Recreational Transit Services

Public Works oversees transit programs that provide bus service to recreational activities during the summer season.  These include an express bus service from outlying park-and-ride lots to the Hollywood Bowl; parking lot shuttle services for both the Hollywood Bowl and the John Anson Ford Theatre; and the Summer Beach Bus service.  In addition, Public Works operates the Special Events Transportation Program that provides year-round charter bus service for eligible groups.

FountainThe Hollywood Bowl Express Bus Service provides public transportation from 15 outlying park-and-ride lots throughout the County to summer performances at the Bowl.  The Hollywood Bowl Shuttle (Bowlbus) provides parking lot shuttle service between four local park-and-ride lots and the Bowl.

The Ford Theatre Shuttle provides shuttle services to the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre from the Universal City Metro Red Line Station.  The shuttle stop is adjacent to the Red Line Station at the "kiss-and-ride" area.

The Summer Beach Bus Program provides service between the Los Angeles County areas of Altadena, Antelope Valley, Charter Oak/Duarte, East Los Angeles, La Crescenta/La Cañada, Santa Clarita, and Topanga Canyon to the Santa Monica Municipal Pier and State Beach.  The Topanga Canyon Service also provides stops at Topanga County Beach and Will Rogers State Beach.

Service from the South Whittier area has been cancelled.
