The Underground Storage Tank (UST) program of the Los Angeles County Public Works, Environmental Programs Division permits and inspects underground storage tanks within the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County and 77 cities.

Los Angeles County Code, Title 11, Division 4, established the UST program in 1983. The Los Angeles County UST program’s goal is to protect public health and safety and the environment by ensuring that UST facilities are permitted, designed, installed, modified, operated, and eventually closed in compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations.

If you have any questions, please email ust@pw.lacounty.gov or contact our public counter at (626) 458-3517.
