Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question:
Sewage is backing up into my house/building through overflowing toilets, sinks, bathtubs, dishwasher, and/or washing machines. What should I do?

Answer:
If neighbors are having similar problems, there is a chance that there is a problem in the public sewer main. If your property is located within the unincorporated Los Angeles County areas or a member City of the Consolidated Sewer Maintenance District (CSMD), please call (800) 675-HELP immediately. If you are not sure if it is a sewer main that we maintain, you can still give us a call.

If neighbors are not having a problem, then the problems is most likely your house lateral, which includes the pipe that connects from the public sewer main to the house. The house lateral is the responsibility of the homeowner.
