Question:
Can I build a structure within the proximity of a landfill?

Answer:
The Los Angeles County Building Code 110.3 states that permits shall not be issued for buildings or structures regulated by this code within 1,000 feet of fills containing rubbish or other decomposable material unless the fill is isolated by approved natural or artificial protective systems or unless designed according to the recommendation contained in a report prepared by a licensed civil engineer.
