Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question:
What is the City Services Request Tracking System (CSRTS)?

Answer:
The CSRTS provides a simple online method for the 88 cities within the County of Los Angeles to submit a Request for Service with DPW through a secure Internet connection. This system uses an interactive website containing the complex business processes necessary to create and route service requests to various Public Works business units. CSRTS provides an easy to use means for cities to track their requests and freely exchange information. In addition it streamlines the routing process and reduces the chance of a request being lost or misdirected. Any city end-users who have authorized access can draft or submit a city service request and the system will route it to the appropriate staff to perform the work, upon the city’s approval of the Department’s cost and completion date estimates. The city end-users can also attach documents such as plan sheets and photographs through an electronic document upload feature. This allows the cities to communicate exactly what the work entails and avoids confusion. Once the request is received, the cities are provided notification of cost and time estimates and required to either approve or cancel the service request. Also, the system generates reports and tracks all service requests; this enables the cities to check statuses on all service requests.
