Automated Photo Red Light Enforcement Program
According to statistics, red-light running is a leading cause of urban auto accidents. Recent advances in photo detection systems have provided local, as well as, law enforcement agencies a means to curtail red-light violations without the associated danger to officers or the public. These advances have produced automated traffic intersection enforcement systems which produce photographic evidence of vehicles illegally running red lights. The systems combine a computer with a high-speed industrial camera and detection system to provide round-the-clock intersection enforcement.
