Board of Supervisors Chair Yvonne B. Burke lauded the efforts of the Greater Los Angeles County Region and the multiuse projects that address regional water resource needs while educating local youth.

The Greater Los Angeles County IRWMP Region represents nearly one third of the state’s population. Members of the Region’s leadership committee (shown here) represent agencies that provide municipal services at every stage of the water cycle, as well as numerous environmental and community-based organizations.

Lester Snow was appointed director of the California Department of Water Resources in February 2004. As the visionary behind the Integrated Regional Water Management Program, Snow is responsible for the administration of more than $5 billion in bond funding for the purposes of flood protection and ecosystem restoration.
