National Drinking Water Week, May 4 -10!
Celebrate National Drinking Water Week which aims to increase awareness of the effects of individual actions on water quality. Only 1 percent of all water on Earth can be used for cooking, drinking and other uses. While our demand for water continues to grow, our supplies do not. You can help by deciding to not waste or pollute water.
Many routine household activities contribute to water pollution. Household cleaners, solvents and hobby materials are harmful in our water supply. Lawn fertilizers, weed and pest killers can wash off our yards and into water bodies, causing pollution. Unused medications that are flushed down the drain can also pollute our water supply.
So take a moment during National Drinking Water Week to think about all our water does for us and make a decision not to waste or pollute it. Remember to Make Every Drop Count!
