The City of Los Angeles has requested residents to cut and place the tree in the green yard trimmings container. Before recycling the tree, please remove all ornaments, tinsel, lights, nails, plastic containers, and plastic or metal tree stands. If you are unable to use your green container, you may recycle your tree by bringing it to one of the drop-off sites listed below on Saturday, January 5 or Sunday, January 6, 2008 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Flocked trees will be accepted. Trees left at curbs or in alleys and streets CANNOT be collected. Per Los Angeles Municipal Code 57.21.06, it is illegal to leave trees at the curb or on street due to extreme fire hazard.
